Land Claiming in Borlock
Land claiming is one of the core mechanics in Borlock, allowing Realms to secure territory, protect resources, and expand their influence across the world.
Basics of Claiming
- Realm Requirement: Only players who belong to a Realm can claim land. Nomads (players without a Realm) cannot.
- Chunk-Based: Land is claimed in chunks (16x16 block areas).
Claim Protection
- Only Realm members with the right roles/permissions can build, break, or interact inside Realm territory.
- Outsiders cannot interact with blocks or containers unless given trust access.
- PvP rules vary by season — some seasons allow combat everywhere, others restrict it inside claims.
Claim Management Commands
- /realm landclaim – Claims the chunk you are standing in.
- /realm landunclaim- Unclaims the chunk you are standing in.
- /realm landunclaimall - Unclaims all claimed land
- /realm overclaim - Used to overclaim enemy territory if power is high enough?
Claim Limits
- Realm Size: Larger Realms can claim more land.
- Realm Leveling: As Realms complete missions, grow in members, and ascend tiers, they unlock more claim slots.
- Upkeep Costs: Each claim has a Borite upkeep to prevent abandoned land from clogging the world. Failure to pay upkeep may result in land being lost.
Claim Strategy
- Protect Your Core: Claim the area around your base to prevent raids and griefing.
- Expand Smartly: Connect outposts, resource areas, and trade routes.
- Chokepoints & Borders: Secure high-value terrain like bridges, valleys, or rare biomes.
- Alliances: Allied Realms may share border claims for stronger regional control.
Higher Tier Claims
- As Realms ascend into Divisions, Nations, and Empires, the amount of claims rises.
