The Infector’s Curse
The Infector’s Curse is a dark power that appears at the midpoint of the season. It is offered to Guilds that have not ascended into Divisions in time. Accepting the curse grants both powerful abilities and severe drawbacks — permanently marking your Realm and members for the rest of the season.
Disadvantages of the Curse
Choosing the curse comes at a steep price:- Weakened Physique
- Permanent –1 or –2 max hearts of health.
- Your body is frailer than other players.
- Twilight Hunger
- Food drains 1.5× faster.
- Constant hunger makes survival harder and requires more farming.
- Rotting Touch
- Crops harvested by cursed players yield 20% fewer drops.
- Farming efficiency is permanently reduced.
Advantages of the Curse
The curse also grants dangerous, corrupted strength:- Unholy Strength
- Deal +10% melee damage at night.
- Perfect for ambushes and nighttime raids.
- Blood Bond
- Killing mobs has a +20% chance to drop Borites.
- Farming mobs becomes highly profitable.
- Desperate Surge
- When below 3 hearts, there’s a 25% chance to instantly heal 2 hearts.
- A last-second lifeline in combat.
Key Details
- It is permanent for the season once chosen.
- A placeholder system tracks whether a player is infected, and the effects persist through death — you cannot escape the curse.
- Choosing the curse means your Realm has embraced a path of dark survival over ascension.
Strategy Notes
- The curse makes you weaker during the day, stronger at night — timing battles is critical.
- Farming food becomes harder, but Borite farming improves greatly.
- Realms that embrace the curse may become feared raiders, outlaws, or shadow powers.
- Those who decline the curse must instead join a Division or Nation to survive the late season.
