⚡ Power in Borlock

In Borlock, Power represents your Realm’s overall strength, influence, and ability to compete for domination. Power determines how threatening your Realm is, how much weight your voice carries in alliances, and even whether enemies see you as a target or a force to fear.

📊 How Power is Calculated

Power is not a single number — it’s a composite score built from multiple factors:
  1. Claimed Land
    • Every chunk claimed by a Realm = 3 Power.
    • Example: A Realm with 20 claimed chunks = 60 Power from land.
    • More land means more territory and resources, but also more upkeep.
  2. Borite Wealth
    • Borites (💎) are the biggest influence on Power.
    • Both your Realm’s treasury and members’ collective wealth increase Power.
    • A wealthy Realm can ascend faster, sustain upkeep, and dominate the Market.
  3. Realm Tier
    • Higher tiers naturally boost Power:
      • Guilds → modest power.
      • Divisions → recognized as regional forces.
      • Nations → wield political and economic weight.
      • Empires → unmatched dominance.
  4. Alliances & Influence
    • Being part of an alliance (Divisions, Nations, or Empires) amplifies your effective Power.
    • Political influence, even without land, can sway the balance of the world.

🏕️ Nomads and Power

Even though Nomads don’t claim land, they are not powerless. Here’s how a lone player can flip the script:
  • Wealthy Nomad: A Nomad who amasses huge amounts of Borites can rival or even outvalue smaller Realms. Money talks — and with Borites, a Nomad can hire mercenaries, control Market pricing, or fund wars.
  • Invisibility Advantage: Mid-season, Nomads gain toggleable invisibility, making them perfect spies, assassins, or saboteurs.
  • Shadow Influence: By backing one Realm financially (or sabotaging another), a Nomad can tip the balance of a war without ever claiming land.

⚖️ Why Power Matters

  • Territory Control: Higher Power means more land, more resources, and safer borders.
  • Political Leverage: Alliances often weigh a Realm’s Power when deciding partners.
  • Market Control: Wealthy Realms or Nomads can manipulate supply and demand, raising or crashing prices.
  • Season Goals: End-of-season prizes often factor Power into who is crowned the most influential.

🌍 Example Scenarios

  • A Small Guild with 10 claimed chunks (30 Power) and little Borites is weak.
  • A Division with 50 chunks (150 Power) and 100,000 Borites is formidable.
  • A Nomad with 300,000 Borites but no land still has massive Power, potentially swaying wars or funding alliances.

👉 In short: Power = Land + Wealth + Tier + Influence.
Even a Nomad with no land can change the world if they hold enough Borites.
